1. Kendal Torchlight Carnival – 27th September

A cornerstone of Kendal’s autumn calendar, the Torchlight Carnival returns on Saturday 27th September, celebrating the creative spirit of the community.

The festival includes:

  • A vibrant daytime event featuring craft stalls, live music, and family-friendly activities.

  • An evening procession lighting up the town centre with illuminated floats and performances—this year’s theme is Seasons.


2. Westmorland County Show – 10 & 11 September

Just a short trip away near Crooklands, this agricultural show highlights rural heritage with livestock displays, local food stalls, crafts, and country-style entertainment. Held across 10–11 September, it’s a must-visit for families and anyone wanting to experience traditional Cumbrian culture.


3. Brewery Arts Events in Kendal

The Brewery Arts Centre hosts a stellar lineup this September:

  • Rosie Jones: “I Can’t Tell What She’s Saying” – Stand-up comedy starring the Taskmaster favourite, on Friday 12th September (age 14+).

5. St Mark’s Church, Natland – Weekly & Monthly Gatherings

Historically rich and beautiful, St Mark’s Church offers a steady rhythm of local life:

  • Daily: Private prayer and reflection from 9 am to 5 pm.
